A year ago today, Jake and I joined 4 other dear families to meet our children for the very first time. It was awkward, emotional, and reminiscing a year later, really funny. I think the wonderful caregivers at the America World transition home have changed the way parents meet their children now, but we were the first group of parents to invade the place in mass. Smooth as sandpaper, I tell ya.
Witness the invasion of the weepy white people...
It was a most wonderful experience to be in the "delivery room" with these families.
Jake and I managed to scare the pants off our sweet Dosen on January 21, 2008. I could not get my hands on him fast enough. Good thing the camera was on him or you would've seen some serious Oprah ugly crying!
Video disclaimer: Every child in this video is now home with his or her forever family. Adoption rocks.

What an incredible blessing he has been to so many- namely me! Thanks for allowing me to love your kids!
I actually teared up watching your video. Thanks for the emotional start to the day:-) I also love reading your blog so I'm gonna add it to list of favorites. Hope my stalking is ok!
I feel like I have that video memorized:)
I remember watching that video about 10 times last year after you guys posted it. Still gives me the chills, and I can't help but laugh when Dosen sees Jake with the big camera getting closer and breaks out wailing. Priceless.
That was precious to watch again. It's amazing at how he has progressed in a year.
HAPPY GOTCHA DAY!!! Turns out that when we got our sweet Sakari, we also got all of you guys too! For that, we are forever grateful!
I think it's truly amazing what you guys have done for little Dosen, he's the best little cousin in the world!
I remember watching this a year ago and crying with joy and anticipation. We traveled a few groups after you in April.
