Serving with Both Hands and about 100 others

Through some terrific friends and fellow adoptive family, we learned of an organization called Both Hands. In it's simplest form, it is an adoption fundraiser, but its mission is so much more. With Both Hands, adoptive families build a team to serve the orphan and the widow.

It is no doubt that God brought Ms. S into our lives at just the right time. After caring for her husband for years after multiple strokes, he passed in July. Ms. S was devastated by the loss, but her neglected home was in desperate need of repairs that could no longer wait. Through a prayer request offered in a Sunday School class, we made the connection that we could help her... and she could help us.

Step 1: Recruit a team of people who are willing to write letters on your behalf. 584 letters went out asking friends and family to sponsor us as we served at Ms. S's home. All the money raised benefits our efforts to bring V home.

Letter stuffing PARTAY!

It was a family affair!

Step 2: Get to WORK! From Friday to Sunday, we had over 50 volunteers give countless hours to this project in so many ways

because this is simply not okay.

Hours and hours of

and

from smiling faces

all for her.

This isn't the end of the story, so please stay tuned for our Both Hands video. The before and after images are absolutely worth every second of work spent on this project and this home. A HUGE thank you to all of you who provided food, babysitting, supplies, a refrigerator, the bed of your truck, blood, sweat, and more than a few tears. Amazing!
