On the adoption front, I've got nothing new really. Our agency was contacted by CARA (Central Adoption Resources Agency) in India asking that Luke write a letter verifying that he wanted Vee to be his brother. AIAA was baffled and so were we, but since we've been talking about this fella for almost one year now, Luke's reply was very sincere. They suggested that he dictate his thoughts to me, but it had to include his original signature.

And then I have these friends, new and old, whose adoption stories have captured my heart as they wait. The Singleton's (we traveled to Africa with them in 2008) are in Ethiopia right now meeting their 4th son in their 3rd adoption. Once Ben said he didn't think they'd ever be "done" adopting. That sentence has played in my head thousands of times.
The Mihnovich's (traveled with them, too) have endured such a challenging journey to their 4 newest children waiting in Ethiopia, but God is FAITHFUL. Nate, Mercy, Isaiah, and James are coming home in March! You can imagine the funds needed to make this happen, so our precious friends, the Davids (yep, traveled with 'em. Sensing a trend?), stepped in to help the Mihnovich's raise the final funds. God isn't just faithful. He's hilarious and creative and thorough and astounding!
Because He is all of these things, I can stand with my friend Brooke and her stunningly beautiful daughter, Nisha. Nisha is from the same city and children's home as Vee, and when Brooke figured out that we were pursuing him, she so graciously spilled everything she knew about him complete with photos--even one of him as an infant. What a gift! Actually, several India adoptive families did this for us. You know who you are. ;)
Sweet Nisha is facing some very serious health issues these days. The doctors' reports include words no parent can stomach. Go here and read her story, but please join me in praying fervently for the miraculous.
Life is hard. It is great and fulfilling, but the time to do it all just doesn't seem to stretch far enough. These guys are the ones who keep me grounded and force me to live in the moment.
So I'll just set out to solve the world's problems while tackling this little personal goal.
Maybe, just maybe we'll get terrific news about Vee's case moving forward this week. Wouldn't that be great?!

It sure seems like God puts certain people in our lives for a reason, huh? I firmly believe that it's not chance, but part of a inspired divine plan that my paths crossed (in actuality or cyberspace) with certain individuals.
We are praying that CARA moves quickly on Vee's case and it moves to court soon. I know they had questions about why we would want a girl since we already had one, and were concerned we wanted a domestic helper, but I guess her diagnosis kept us from having to write a formal letter about it. Who knows what is going on in their minds?
Happy Valentine's Day to you all---and good luck with your athletic goal!
It's a travesty that it's taken this long! We can't wait 'till we can see the little guy again, in pictures and in person!
Good luck on your training goals. Leslie an I have run a couple of half-marathons; Disney World and San Francisco; and there is nothing like the feeling of crossing that finish line. Kinda like nausea, but in a good way! LOL.
have i told you lately how much we love your posts??! :) bummed that i won't see you guys this upcoming week, but we know God has a purpose and a plan...we need to just have some time to hang and "be" around you guys...something tells me something big could happen out of that...well, at least, some hilarious stories. when i read luke's letter, i cried a tear. not gonna lie. slash, look for something in your mailbox soon :) this is a fun game.
That would be GREAT news! We'll be praying! :)
I can't thank God enough for all of the friends He has put in my life over the last 2 years. I feel like I have known you for years and am standing with you as you make your way through the final months of waiting for V to come home.
So grateful for your pleas for prayer as we are completely dependent on a miracle. Your prayers and friendship mean the world to me. July 9th can't come soon enough ;)
While you wait, we continue to pray for V and celebrate his homecoming in the very near future.
