Birthday Boy

Three. Sigh. If I could keep him this size forever, I would. Jake and I might be the only people on earth who adore 2-3 year olds. Seven is shaping up to be fun, too, but this post is about Dosen.

This kiddo is loved! The days leading up to his birthday were a shower of cash and plastic from Deeda, Uncle Jason, and Auntie Jo. He LOVES cards that sing, and all of them delivered.

Papa and Honey came up for the birthday festivities with this stashed in their car. On our way home from church, Dosen made me stop in the middle of the street so he could race over to his gift. My dad picked out a "touring hat" to compliment the ensemble. Is this not the cutest car??

Yes, there was a theme. My neighbor, Danielle Winters, owns and operates Baby Cakes (available via facebook). I begged for a sneak peek at Dosen's new wheels from my parents, and Danielle was able to create a cake masterpiece. It was as delicious as it was cute. All the kids loved it!

My happy boy. He's not much for a big hoopla, but he sure enjoyed a day with his favorite friends and family.

His only party requirement - party hats. A dozen aisles at Party City later...

Winston Jay singing to Dosen.

Who feels special?? Flanked by some of our favorites--Winston and Tucker.

We had big boy fun, too. Who knew your knee could fit in your armpit, Luke?

The party park was a SWAMP! The biggies loved it, but Dosen was not a fan of the mud and wet. The higher and faster he can go, great, but under no circumstances does he want to be dirty.

Elevated above the dirt--Dosen and Graham (Tucker's twin brother).

It was a special day for a special boy. All birthdays are important, but my heart was especially full celebrating this one. We know nothing about the day Dosen was born, but this kid is jam-packed with love, tenderness, fun, and pure joy. God's hand is upon him, and we pray daily that he will grow up with an unshakable sense of destiny and the courage to live it.

So, Pat Robertson--stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Girl, I'm a big fan of the 2's and 3's myself. Makes me SO sad that 4 is looming closer for Ben. They are such precious, hilarious, sweet people at this age! Happy BIG 3, Dosen!
