Country Cruisin'

Jake is from Kentucky. Not rolling hills, horse farm, miles of split rail fences Kentucky. Wolf Hollow, Kentucky. Granted The Holler is GORGEOUS, but it is couuuuntrray. The first time he took me to his house, I nearly threw up from all the curvy narrow roads we took at 90 mph in the dark. If he hadn't been so cute, that stretch of the trip could've been a relationship deal breaker. Well, that and the fact that his family celebrates any and every bodily noise with sincere enthusiasm.

Any who, Jake and the fam affectionately called traversing those backroads, dirt roads, and the ever popular gravel paths, Country Cruisin, and we've kept the cruisin alive all through our days without children and now with. No agenda. Just load into the car, shoes always optional. Windows down and music loud. Luke invariably resists because everything in life must have a stated purpose, and Jake always answers with "We'll just see what we can see."

Long story made even longer, tonight was the perfect temperature for a good cruisin. Dosen got a new car seat today, so what better way to try it out?! Both the car seat and the short trip were perfect. We took a new path and saw tons of cows scattered over acres and acres. We even saw a brown and white bull. Mr. Bull got such reviews that we had to turn around and see him again. He was too far away for a photo, but these guys/gals were thoroughly annoyed with us and our blaring Alabama (the group, not state) oldies.

I promise she mooed, "Seriously??"

D and his comfy big boy ride. He won the Holler-esque award for riding sans pants.

Looking to Luke for approval on mom's carseat choice (or gloating about the pants, maybe).

Seeing the bull twice meant passing the dead skunk twice, too. Shoowee.

Good times, I tell ya.

I'm glad you made it past our faults. I hope their is still some teenie, tiny celebration of bodily fluids, otherwise how will we ever rember Jake's dad?

Your "country cruisin" should always end up at the Hicks household ;) That would give it purpose for Luke and then we would get to hang out with you guys.
