Last day of kindergarten...
We had a terrific year at Arnold Elementary. It is a gem of a school tucked in the diverse downtown area of Cleveland. While we had to cross zone from the county to make it happen, we're very happy we did.
The last day of school was marked with "Celebrate Arnold"--a school-wide assembly where kids get showered with all kinds of awards. Some are the obligatory kind like Luke's class being named the "Helping Hands" class. Really? But there are legitimately earned ones like Arnold's mileage club and academic recognition, too. Luke won the reading award for his class, and he was so very happy about it. We're proud of you, pal.
Luke and Mrs. Ellis. Wonderful teacher!
Luke and his buddies. (Side note: we're hopeful that Luke will grow into his teeth sometime soon.)
And another buddy. Luke told me early in the year that E is the smartest girl in his class, and I don't think she ever fell from that ranking in his eyes. Let's just say there's a mutual "respect" between these two.
On to 1st grade!
