The perfect distraction for Tuesday came in the form of chaperoning Luke's class field trip to the Apple Valley Orchard. This place is exactly twelve turns away from nowhere, but in totality, an impressive amenity in our community. Mrs. Martin's class behaved wonderfully. However, that many children anywhere feels a lot like herding cats.
Station 1: a presentation by Mrs. Applebee. I wanted to card herto see if that was really her name.
Station 2: a presentation about apples and the orchard led by Mrs. Martin's new bff. The presenter had a twist on the English language that I'd never heard before. This particular stop was THE highlight of the day for me. Little Bo Peep got so frustrated when Mrs. M got a question wrong that I could not contain my laughter. Seriously. I had tears and shaky shoulders.
Waiting patiently for the wagon ride.
Station 3: Obviously the highlight for the children.
Lunch was served at Deer Park! The kids totally deserved the time to run off some energy. They were so attentive and respectful.
And just a little reminder for mama that there are glimpses of a terrific gentleman-to-be.

I must confess that I secretly (though not anymore) hope that Luke will one day be my son-in-law.
glad you had fun- most likely the individuals at stop one and three were church members! Mrs. BJ Armstrong (well close to Applebee at least the A) and Mr. Chuck McSpadden who owns the orchard! It is a fun place- hope you ate a fritter! What a great day to be outside.
I love your sense of humor. . . really curious about the organ selling :) Sounds like a great fall activity. There is nothing better than fresh apple cider and apple picking!
Sounds like fun. We're planning on visiting an orchard in a couple weeks. You'll want to do some research on which organs are vital and which aren't. You wouldn't want to sell the wrong ones! :-)
I want to hear more about Station #2. Krissi hinted that this was NOT a favorite and missed Mr. McSpadden's presentation from last year. Seems Bo Peep took over Mr. McSpadden's "take apart an apple" presentation. What question did she get wrong? Too funny! So glad Luke had a fun time.
