While I woke up eager to watch dumb 'ole college football today, my friend is headed to the airport with her young daughter. They are MOVING (not just visiting) to Ethiopia. Kelly's badge, Adama Diaries, is to the right, and if you're willing, please add it to yours. She's not entirely sure what she'll be doing, but serving at the orphans and widows home in Adama will be her priority. Kelly is a strong, hilarious, single mom who cares deeply about the orphan crisis. I got to know her better this year in our Growing Kids God's Way class, and as the class went on, the details of this move continued to unfold. I cannot wait to go visit and serve alongside her! I have a distinct feeling that we'll be seeing many more beautiful Ethiopian faces in the pews, nurseries, and children's church chairs at FBC!
At 2:00, Kelly and Kenli will board a plane in Atlanta--right after God moves on the heart of the airlines to allow her many bags. They will land around noon tomorrow in Addis Ababa. Read her story for yourself, and please join me in prayer for them both - Adama Diaries.
