love trumps ALL excuses

I've been formulating my post-Christmas post, but I felt silly writing about "stuff." I didn't just feel silly, I felt ridiculous. We fully participated in giving our kids gifts (and receiving wonderful gifts, too), and don't get me wrong, it is so fun to give them things that you know they will be so geeked over. However, we were guilty of buying a few stupid things to even the numbers or just have one more thing to open. Lovely.

I was brought back to reality harshly as I read my friend Tracy's blog post today. If you're at all a regular reader of this blog, will you please follow this link? It won't take but a second, but I hope you will let it speak to you. I'll confess that since we've become involved in the culture of all things adoption, I could easily let myself become arrogant and judgemental against those who aren't taking up the cause, too, but as I heard recently, "you have to let people be their own radical." I hope that reading Tracy's words will force you and me to be our own radical. I hope the cause of parent-less, hope-less, food-less, shelter-less, and love-less children will keep us awake so much so that we are forced to figure out what we WILL DO about it.
