... and wait... and wait... and...
So here's the skinny on the court situation in India. Last Friday's court appointment didn't happen. Apparently there are just 2 judges hearing cases. I don't know if that means all cases, but I'm thinking that just means adoption cases. Honestly, I'm ill prepared to speculate. The children's home is quite frustrated, too, since it sounds as though there are at least a few pending cases for children in their care. We are in contact with one of those families, and they have been waiting longer than we have for a hearing.
To be totally transparent, I'm stuck. I'm fully convinced that our sovereign God's timing is perfect. I'm also convinced that it isn't God's plan for children to languish in an institutional setting without parents to love and protect them. Vee is so very blessed to be in a safe setting with caregivers who seem to do the very best they can, and for this, we are extremely grateful.
So we'll keep waiting and praying for these 2 judges. May these cases keep appearing at the top of their stacks each day, and may each child's face compel them to favorable action. Thank you, thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. We have a tremendous support team! You guys amaze us!

Ok, that's it...I'm making a call to my family in India. You're right...it's just such a tightrope to walk and here's the thing...you guys amaze us, soooo deal with it. Vee will be home soon and we are praying that the judges will see nothing but his face at the office and in their dreams every night until they are compelled to action, quickly I hope.
Praying for you!!! Praying for Abby to get through this week before the May court closure. Do your courts close for 5 weeks too?

Oh Merica. I know you must be so disappointed, and yet I am again so blessed by your faith. That little boy WILL be a part of your family.
We'll keep praying
oh man, i'm sooooo sorry. the wait can be so hard. we will be lifting you all up in our prayers. can't wait to meet that little guy! keep the faith. can't wait to see you all this weekend!!!!
Sooo a couple from our church just adopted a 17 year old boy from India. 17. Can you believe that? It's been a 3 year process but he's finally here and he's so cool! He's in the youth group and it just gives me a precious glimpse into the future for your family:-)
When we were stuck in court, one of the judges went on an extended vacation, leaving all of the cases to one judge. While I was mad about it, things went in our favor when he decided to waive the 3rd court date :) Maybe something like that will happen in your case? In the meantime, catch up on your rest ;) Praying and thinking about you often. . .
