Our last day at Ashraya was really only hard because of this precious, precious lady--Agnes Auntie. She was Vismay's universe, and we ripped her heart out when we finally walked away. I had to write her a letter because I knew I would be too emotional to say all I wanted her to know.

Vismay hopped in her lap, and AA asked if it was okay with me. Well of course it was! He asks about her just about every hour even now. We will do our best to keep her a part of his memories for as long as possible.

Cricket time!!

Silly, silly boys.

Our parting gift to the older children? Oh yes, silly bands!!

Post-hospital marathon. This kid can EAT (fries are his fave), but this is his wink. It looks more like mean muggin'.
Finally today...

We met our driver at 9am for a day of site seeing. We started at the Lotus Temple. Quite amazing, but it was so blasted hot that I had to wonder what would happen if I "accidentally" fell in the reflection pools.
Next stop was Humayun's Tomb. It is seriously impressive that his wife had this incredible structure build in honor of her late hubby. I told Jake he didn't need to feel pressured to do this for me, but he didn't say the same back. I guess I better buy stock in brick now.

Before you get to the "Baby Taj" as Humayun's diggs are called, you walk through the tomb and mosque dedicated to the first prime minister. It was built only 20 years prior.

Brothers for sure. Vismay does the Indian face pinching thing to Luke all day.

Deliciousness.

The little armed thing up top is Luke. He loved all the climbing.

He did not, so we improvised ways to lug the prince around.

Baby Taj. It is really worth seeing.

It was so hot we each pretended we died, too. Vismay's pose was the funniest.

Dear me. I don't know if he's ever had ice cream or not, but we had to pry this dish out of his hands before he started licking it.

We had a glorious lunch (and the above ice cream) at the Lodi Garden. This place was my favorite stop of the day. Simply beautiful.

We spent a long while at the Gandhi memorial. His life and his message are so compelling, and we enjoyed reading the framed quotes along his final walk before being assassinated.

The place is actually in shambles, but there are a few really interesting spots to see.

The gong of peace for all nations.

Gandhi and the poet, Tagore, whom we quoted on our fundraiser t-shirts.

Our home away from home--the taxi. These two never complain.

And to end our day, we were reminded why we are here. This sweet, filthy child was just outside our car window playing in trash. Vismay will never have to beg for food, search through trash, or be alone. He is a true gift to us.

What an adventure! When you were at the Lotus temple, you were within walking distance of our hotel.
Humayun's Tomb is indeed fantastic! We played around there for hours! If you can, try and make it to Red Fort and the Qu'tb Minar, two more exceptional sites in Delhi. The Lodi Garden sounds great too.
Great pictures of everyone!
God is so good! Thank you for letting Him shine through your lives.
We loved Humayun's Tomb too (and Red Fort)! A couple weeks ago we were watching an episode of "The Story of India" (PBS) and learned that some buried in Humayun's tomb were actually beheaded INSIDE it and then buried there. Thanks for the pics--fun to see Vismay and some of the places we saw!
So good to see pictures from your trip! Your son is adorable!!! I had to tell you that we did the Apollo H's for the same reason. I was OVERWHELMED by all the sick people! OH MY...I kept thinking, "What did we do?" Then that night when I get sick, I got a little nervous! I do think it was only Delhi Belly and something I ate. Our dr. was kind..he thought that Sanjai (older boy of the family with us) needed a TB test. Scary for a moment but they stood their ground and he verified that it was only recommended. We only had to each get our kids 2 shots, so all in all it was okay and our waits weren't bad. Interesting to say the least tho! We are home and Abby is doing great!!!
Love this... Love you .... Love Love...
We told them we needed it that afternoon due to our flight the next afternoon. They made it work for us! I will pray for favor for you!

I fully understand the tragic nature of walking away from Agnus. I will never forget her wailing sobs as I took Nisha and ran (per my instructions). Honestly, that was probably the hardest part of the whole trip.
You are in the home stretch. Enjoy your final days in India :)
Vismay is adoreable!!! Praising God with you for every moment, from now and the days and months to come. Looking forward to watching more videos, seeing more pictures, and having a happy heart each time I come here to visit this wonderful place that is the story of your lives. LOVE!
Love love the pictures...looks like you all are having a ball!
