There are about 5,434 funny stories to share, but we are safe and sound at the Daffodils hotel in Bangalore, India. We had an amazing flight from London due to upgraded seats. Yay! You know when you're marching your way back to coach lusting after the comfy seats between rock star class and commoners? Yep, that's where we were--World Traveler Plus, they call it on British Airways. Thank you, Lord, for the little things in life.
So the funniest story of the day/night/morning (I have no clue what time it is). I realized just before landing in Bangalore that I do not have the hotel address. No biggie, I think, because the hotel is supposed to pick us up. We breeze through customs (as in there were none) and immigration feeling pretty awesome about ourselves only to walk out to a human wall of name boards from 2 zillion hotels. We do the squinty-eye scan and do not see our names. We then take a walk by the wall of names, and don't see our names then either. No worries.
We make arrangements for a taxi (4500 rps - gulp), but it is very clear that the guy has no clue what hotel we are talking about. The guy drives about 50 feet before passing the vehicle over to the real driver and away we go. Away we went very fast and CRAZY, but that I was prepared for. We get into the city, and he starts asking for the hotel address. We don't have it, but he missed that part of the conversation with Driver 1. We do have a phone number. He proceeds to call 5 different people it seems, and no one knows where the hotel is. He calls the Daffodil, and apparently that didn't help. He pulls over to ask someone. Oh, but just to make it interesting, the car completely dies... in the middle of the road. Yes, I am totally serious.
We unload the 3 of us plus our luggage into the covered motorbike contraption (Jake just fell asleep, so I can't ask him what it is called). Hilarious!! Meanwhile there are 10 conversations going on about how to get to our hotel. Another taxi shows up, we unload, and were off again. Not a mile later, we find it. Yay! Nice guy shows us to our room, but then another guy knocks to say his driver is waiting for us at the airport!!!! Very embarrassed, we apologize. My explanation wasn't to his liking, but what are we to do? He eventually says, "Everything is fine. Do not worry." Dude, I gave up on worrying about 45 minutes and 80mph ago.
Huge props to Luke for being a total trooper. None of this craziness phased him a bit. We miss Dosen so much, but I'm grateful he's safe and sound with Honey and Papa.
Okay, we're going to try to rest for a bit, and then get our bearings. Stay tuned for more.

Hehehe...Sounds about right ;-)
Glad you made it in one piece! Have a great gotcha day!
You have to have at least one crazy travel story or else no one believes that you actually traveled... Well, in this case you will be bringing back a happy bundle of proof :)
Praying for you,
Heather
Love it-I'm glad you can laugh! Get some good rest-we cannot wait to hear more about your adventure.
Jeff stole my comment--but yes, that's exactly what would happen. Praying for safety and less communication breakdowns on your trip than we had. :-)
Love it!!! These are the best kinds of stories...they will last forever. Becca's first time to India, our driver took us the wrong way down a one way road...in Bangalore, yep...so glad you had a blast in London, I assume Jake took care of my assignment...since we are BFF and all...
