Despite the shaky start to our trip yesterday, we arrived in London only 4 hours behind schedule. Not surprisingly, it worked out for the best. Customs was a snap, and my ever so smart husband prepaid our train to the hotel which ended up being a quick walk from the rail stop. Everyone freshened up (we looked ROUGH), and in less than 30 minutes, we were downtown London by way of the Tube ready to take it all in.
Again, credit to my seasoned traveler hubs, we hoped aboard the London Eye with no wait at all. It was a blast! I haven't been to London since 1996, so this was a first for me, too. To avoid bus route confusion and to take advantage of the city as much as possible, we paid a small fortune for the hop-on-hop-off bus. And hop we did.
Luke was a complete trooper with zero complaining. It is only about 65 degrees here today, so the kid was freezing. Once we got him a proper sweatshirt, he was back in business.
Fish 'n chips to finish off the night, and now we're now all knocking at delirium's door. Good night all. Tomorrow - INDIA!
PS - Rachel and Naomi, our day brought back so many memories of our days in Cambridge and London. And Rach, I still managed NOT to hold on to anything in the Tube.

I am loving reading about and keeping up with your big adventure. I'm praying, too, for absolutely perfectly worked out details so that all goes smoothly. Whatever comes, God is in the center of it so it will be okay!! So waiting for that first pic of the 5 of you!!
Thank you for updating. As I prayed for you today, I wondered how your trip was progressing. Sounds like God has blessed you with a great beginning.
Aaaaah! I've been waiting all day to hear how it went for you guys. Did you actually get into Westminster Abbey this time around? I'm still mad that it was closed when we were there.
That's hilarious about the tube. I can just see you tucking your hands into your sweatshirt to avoid those bars.
All I want to know is if you bought a Cadbury bar from the tube vending machines. Remember those delightful things?
