You won't even believe this!

I'm just so amazed at how the adoption community is a mighty force. We have each others' back, we claim every adopted and waiting child as our own, and we'll tell anyone who will listen how each one has changed our lives inexplicably forever.

Through a "random" search in an India adoption yahoo group, I stumble upon a family who just might love our little fella as much as we do. They met him while traveling to bring their sweet daughter home. These little snippets have been a treasure this week...

This was part of her blog entry on THE VERY DAY we saw his photo for the first time...
Please keep Anju's friends at Ashraya in your prayers as the poor economy has been keeping some of them from finding homes. Especially keep "Vee," the little boy who was featured in the same article as Anju in your prayers, as he once again waits for a family.

Her entry in March... the month we received permission to pursue him.
I discovered on rainbowkids.com this morning that "Vee", the little boy whom we met at Anju's children's home, is now on hold for a family. He is a little ray of sunshine and the person/people adopting him will be very lucky to have him for a son. Thanks to all those who kept this little boy's future in your prayers.

Observations from their time in India.
We fell in love with many of the little ones while there, and wished we could take many more than one home with us. The dearest to our heart was Vee... (November 2008)

My kids heard a lot about Vee and talk about him often. They will be happy to hear that he is going to have a mom and dad and brothers too!

He is so full of joy. You will just not believe it. He is a rascal, too.

Are you kidding me? It may seem like little to get worked up over, but when you are buried in paperwork and uncertainties about adding a 3/4 year old to the mix of your already boy-dominated family, these words came at the VERY moment I needed them. I was just jotting down some thoughts in my journal on Monday, and with one last email check, all of these connections began to unfold. Long before we ever knew of Vee, a mother--a family even--cared for him. They prayed for him and for the family who would choose him. That's our son and that family is us.

If you've ever even whispered, "I'd love to adopt someday, but..." Do not let all the zillions of "buts" keep you from a journey that will stretch you, awaken you, and connect you to so many who've opened their hearts and homes, too.

He does set the lonely in families. He really does.

Merica,
I am sure when she typed those words she had no idea the impact they would have on you...just as you had no idea the impact your words would have on me today... God is soooooo good and is so often hanging out right in the little details!!! I love your heart...and I love that you're living it. Your life and family are your testimony.

We've only had our daughter home for 8 months--and I remember well how I ached for the smallest info about our little one while we waded through paperwork and waited for the courts to do their business. Glad we could encourage you during your wait.

I think these little tidbits are like the adoptive mom's ultrasound photos--not really much, but they are the only clues we have to our child so we spend hours pouring over the possibilities each shadow may hold. You get so little information in adoption--and at the pace the agency or country sets--it's tough for us moms to take!!

Our family is so filled with joy to know that he is going to a Christian home. Our love and prayers are with your family members- and we hope you won't be separated any longer than is necessary.

I found your blog through PJ Academy (which I connected with through the One Love Coffees group)...what an awesome story! God is amazing! I then proceeded to read several months of your blog-great stuff! You're a mom after my own heart-eating potato chips must be done quietly (well, there were other things that struck a chord with me as well, like adoption and all, but I think you know what I mean)!

You are adopting Vee? We also have been praying for him since meeting him at Ashraya last winter. I will look through my pictures and see if I can find anything to send you. In the meantime, don't hesitate to e-mail questions about adopting a special needs preschooler. It is certainly a challenge, but through Christ all things are possible ;)
